HOW TO IDENTIFY HOUSE FLIES
Adult house flies grow to be about ¼ of an inch in length. They have two wings, an oval shaped body, and are dark gray in color. House flies have four distinctive dark grey strips on their body just behind their head and have one silver strip and one gold strip on their face.
WHY DO I HAVE A HOUSE FLY PROBLEM?
House flies will enter into homes through holes in screens, open doors and small gaps found around windows and doors as they search for food and water sources. Things that house flies are attracted to include leaky faucets and pipes, animal feces, garbage, and compost piles. Once inside of your home they will feed on food that is left out on counters, in sinks, or in unsecured garbage cans.
ARE HOUSE FLIES DANGEROUS?
Yes, house flies are dangerous. Before entering into your home and landing on your food they were outside feeding on garbage, feces and other like items. They will carry the harmful bacteria from those items on their legs and body and into your home.
